The Happy Nomad Tour Begins
The day has finally arrived. Today I am starting The Happy Nomad Tour.
It’s hard to believe. Time has gone by so quickly. But I guess that’s a reminder not to let life slip through your fingers.
For once I’m taking one thing at a time and right now I’m just focusing on Houston. I’m excited to visit my awesome friend. While in Houston I’ll mentally prepare for Mexico and figure out what to do and where to go until the beginning of September. In September I’ll be in Queretaro, Mexico. I’ll also try to find an opportunity to volunteer in Houston.
Though I haven’t had too many “What the heck am I doing??” moments yet, I know I will have them in Houston as I think about what’s to come. It’s only natural. I fear the unknown like everyone else. But I know this is what I have to do and I won’t let self-doubt get me down!
With that, I will share a song that should have been one of my anthems. I truly believe if everyone pursued his or her passions in life the world would be infinitely better as a result. Gandhi said “Be the change you wish to see in the world” and MJ says “If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.” How can that not be true?
Michael Jackson’s video below is difficult to watch at times, but it does a great job of showcasing many of the world’s problems, the great leaders who enacted change, and the love that unites us all.
Thanks for checking in and I’m looking forward to sharing all the experiences I encounter while traveling!
Safe travels! Looking forward to reading about all of your experiences!

Good Luck Bro! Looking forward your travel stories and have a safe trip 🙂

Thanks!
Saw your blog in the OSU alumni magazine! Phil and I are excited to read about your adventures. Good luck! P.S. (We have some friends in San Antonio/Austin area (we used to live there) if you are looking for a contact there.)
Thanks Susan! I’ll let you know if I swing by San Antonio/Austin. Have a great weekend and thanks for writing!
Proud of what you have done Adam. Keep making the world a little better through your actions. Julius and I wonder if MUNDO had an impact on where you find yourself now. Keep in touch if possible through facebook – I am now at UM in Ann Arbor, but remember fondly my days in Ohio – especially BHN!

Hi Phil!
I think MUNDO definitely played a role in some way. The trips helped incubate my permanent case of traveler’s fever and the service opportunities helped me see how making small changes in communities has a magnified impact, etc. So yes, in some way I am wandering el mundo embodying the values of MUNDO 🙂
Thanks for writing and best of luck to you at the school that shall never be mentioned again on this website… 🙂
Keep us posted on your adventures! If you happen to visit SE Asia, hope you can visit Manila! Cheers! Icar
Thanks! I will definitely let you know if I make it to the Philippines!
