Falling In Love Past The Point Of No Return

How Can You Not Love Him?

How Can You Not Love Him?

I wrote last year, when I came home from Denmark before starting The Happy Nomad Tour, how it’s never too late to love man’s best friend.

Nothing has changed there, but my love for man’s best friend has only deepened since getting home. My brother’s dog, named Cleveland after our hometown by my cousin, is just a wonderful creature I’m falling in love with.

The veterinarian thinks it’s a mix between Rottweiler, chow, and German shepherd. The black spots on his tongue give away his chow heritage.

My dad doesn’t really like dogs so we never grew up with one. I wasn’t afraid of them, but I didn’t understand why dog-owners were so goo-goo-gaa-gaa about their pets either.

Well, now I understand. You can count me among them.

Playing Together

Playing Together

Cleveland is well-behaved, hardly ever barks, loves to play but is content sitting next you as well. It took 29 years, but I never realized how fast dogs eat. I’d give him a plate of leftovers every day and just watch and marvel at how fast he could get the contents on the plate into his stomach – and want more!

Cleveland has even won over my dad and it was wonderful to see them interacting together. Cleveland often started the night sleeping at the foot of my parents’ bed and then would make his way upstairs to my brother’s bed.

Sleeping Modestly, As Always

Sleeping Modestly, As Always

I never thought I’d say it, but our family has expanded. It wasn’t in the form of grandkids, as my mom would really like, but it’s the next best thing!

I’m partial since I love Cleveland, but I could watch the videos below over and over again. The first video happened by accident. He was sleeping and I had my camera on me. I wanted to see if he’d wake up if I said “walk” and he totally did! As a good scientist though, I had to repeat the experiment and that’s the second video with more talking to prove “walk” is the trigger. And with that, the article ends as I know you’ll watch the videos over and over again and disregard anything else below 🙂
