Grandma always makes the best food in the world. Period. It doesn’t matter where you are, which country it is, which type of food, etc. Grandma does it best.
With that in mind, imagine the excitement when I discovered that my friend and his brother head to their grandma’s place every day for lunch. A daily dose of culinary masterpieces from here in the heart of the Mediterranean? Could life be better?
Well, the short answer to that is no, it doesn’t get much better than this.
Each day she serves up amazingly good food, from locally sourced ingredients, especially Cyprus’s halloumi cheese, and dazzles our taste buds.
Sometimes it was food so simple it was hard to believe it could be passed off as food. For example, a plate of beans. How is this a meal? But when you take your first bite and realize that beans are only part of the story, that there is olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and love all mixed in together, you then get a new perspective on what food really is.
And come on. Look at the napkins she uses. They even have a heart. Seriously, it doesn’t get any better than this. I’m not exaggerating.
Unfortunately, I can’t share the wonderful tastes and smells with you, but use your imagination as you see some of grandma’s dishes presented below in all its glory.
