Heading To Mexico This Week
Tomorrow I’ll be heading to Austin with my awesome friend. We’ll see the sights and have some fun before I depart for Mexico on Wednesday.
I will leave Houston and take the 19 hour bus ride to San Luis Potosí, Mexico. I will couchsurf with someone who lives on the outskirts of the city and work on her farm. She has a lot of animals that need taking care of. I am looking forward to spending this time in nature with animals.
After my trip to North Carolina and now in Houston, I am really falling in love with dogs! By chance, there is a stray dog shelter very close to where she lives. So if I run out of things to do on her farm, I can volunteer at the shelter and give some unlucky animals some love.
The weather should be great – around 80F/27C with chances of thunderstorms everyday. In Houston it has been over 100F/38C every day I have been here. I’m looking forward to spending time outside in that great weather.
When I first started planning this trip, I really wanted my first experience in Mexico to be working on a farm. This isn’t exactly a pure farm, but still. I liked the idea of the gringo going to Mexico to work on a farm. And since I have lived in a city my whole life I am sure I will learn a lot. I can’t wait!
Farm!? Animals!? I am jealous : )
Yes, I can’t wait! 🙂
Hope you are safe & sound. Glad you had such a wonderful time in Texas and happy to hear your love for dogs has emerged :). They truly are man’s best friend. Love you and always thinking and hoping your travels are safe. Love, Aunt Maureen xoxoxo
Thanks Aunt Maureen 🙂
Yep, I’m hooked. I foresee dogs in my future – if I ever have a “home” 🙂
Adam,
Be safe, have fun, and know you will be missed. I will be dealing with Hurricane Irene, this weekend, should be interesting. I’ll fill you in on all the gory details….
Love ya, Mom
Thanks mom! Good luck with the hurricane. I’ll miss you guys too!
