Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum is a desert area full of majestic mountains and vast expanses of desert. Bedouins still live there and run the show, but you are welcome to visit, see how they live, and stay in their guest tents. This area is also home to history as Lawrence of Arabia led uprisings against the Ottoman Empire here in 1917-1918.

There isn’t a ton to do here. You can take a truck into the desert and see the landscapes, see hieroglyph carvings in the rocks, stay in a Bedouin tent and get a taste of Bedouin life, etc. One unique experience would be going up in a hot air balloon at sunrise and taking in the scenes. But one day here is plenty.
